Three dead, several others injured in shooting incident at bar

Police are currently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred around 1:55 a.m. on Saturday, 14th September, at Majestic Bar, Nelson Street, The City, St. Michael.

Three individuals were confirmed dead at the scene, and six others sustained gunshot wounds. The injured are receiving treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH). In addition, two males with injuries are being treated at the scene.

Reports indicate that a number of patrons were inside the bar when three masked men entered and discharged several rounds from firearms, resulting in the senseless and unfortunate death of three of the patrons and various injuries to eight other persons who were inside the Bar. Investigations are ongoing as police work to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.

The Barbados Police Service has expressed determination to bring the culprits responsible for the incident to justice. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist with the investigation.

Police Commissioner Richard Boyce has extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wished the injured a full and speedy recovery.
