Measures were put in place to ensure classes continued at St Albans Primary School.

Chief Education Officer Dr Ramona Archer-Bradshaw gave that update moments ago at the St James Primary School.

She said that after the school’s management was notified that 12 teachers out of 24 were reportedly ill on Thursday morning, efforts were made to rectify the situation.

“I thank the principal for taking swift action to reorganise. We made contact with Erdiston Teachers’ Training College.

“The principal was able to send about 15 student teachers here to assist with the process.

“ I am thankful for retirees who showed up to ensure that the teaching and learning continues at this school,” Archer-Bradshaw said. (TG)
