Talk-show host Walter Blackman has passed away.

The popular moderator on Starcom Network’s Down to Brasstacks call-in radio programme died earlier today, after an illness.

He was in Atlanta, Georgia in the USA.

Blackman, an actuary by profession, came to the show with his straight-talking persona, dealing mostly with the challenges faced by poor Barbadians. He also dealt passionately with matters of politics, climate change and solar energy.

So far on today’s Down to Brasstacks programme, several Barbadians called to pay tribute to Blackman, also offering condolences to his family and to Starcom Network.
