Police investigate suspected drowning of British visitor

Police are investigating the suspected drowning of a British visitor whose body was discovered unresponsive at Deia Beach, Maxwell Coast Road, Christ Church, around 12:30 p.m. today.

According to reports, a beachgoer spotted the unresponsive man and pulled him to shore.

Officers from the Oistins Police Station responded to the scene, where they found the body of a male, identified as Kevin Davis, 67, a guest staying at the Barbados Beach Club on Maxwell Coast Road.

A medical doctor pronounced Davis dead at the scene and his identity was later confirmed by a close family member.

Investigations are ongoing and the police are appealing to the public for any information that could assist with their inquiries. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the Oistins Police Station at 418-2612, Police Emergency at 211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIPS (8477), or the nearest police station.
