An ongoing trial has pushed back that of former calypso monarch Aziza Kebret Tsgaye Clarke until next year.
Her trial is now slated for June 9, 2025.
Clarke, of Bonnetts, Brittons Hill, St Michael, is accused that knowing or believing Hakeem Stuart had committed an arrestable offence of murder, she assisted him by transporting him from Briar Hall to Graeme Hall, both in Christ Church – an act intended to impede his lawful apprehension on March 21, 2019.
She was represented by Senior Counsel Angella Mitchell-Gittens, who held for King’s Counsel Michael Lashley, while Senior State Counsel Kevin Forde held for Principal State Counsel Krystal Delaney, who is prosecuting the matter.
Justice Pamela Beckles explained that while yesterday was Clarke’s trial date, the No. 4 Supreme Court was currently engaged in another matter, with another set to follow immediately after.
As a result, the judge vacated the trial date and set June 9 as the new date for Clarke’s trial. The alternate date is July 15.
