House fire prevented in Barbarees Gardens

Earlier today, fire officers responded to a house fire in Barbarees Gardens, St. Michael.

On arrival, they found that the fire had been extinguished by three men in the community, who used a garden hose to put out the blaze.

Station Officer Roger Bourne provided the update, confirming that the quick actions of the men, Mark Broomes, Aneelie Jones, and his brother Pierre Jones, helped prevent the fire from spreading.

No injuries were reported.

The Nation News team caught up with the two men, Mark Broomes and Aneelie Jones, who acted quickly to extinguish the house fire in Barbarees Gardens, St. Michael, earlier this evening.

Mark and Aneelie recounted how they, along with Aneelie’s brother Pierre, managed to put out the fire before fire officers arrived on the scene.
