Police at the Hastings/Worthing Station have launched an investigation into the suspected drowning of a 57-year-old male visitor.
His unresponsive body was discovered at Brownes Beach, Bay Street, St Michael, around 1:45 p.m. today.
The deceased had arrived in Barbados earlier that morning aboard the Norwegian Viva cruise ship, which docked around 9:45 a.m. Reports indicate that he had been swimming with turtles at Brownes Beach when he encountered difficulties in the water.
He was pulled from the sea, but emergency personnel who responded to the scene found no signs of life.
A medical doctor later pronounced him dead.
