An elderly man who stole four hams and a block of cheese from Massy Supermarket last Tuesday will spend the next six months behind bars.

Abdullah Rahim Aziz, 65, of Hope Road, St George, pleaded guilty to stealing the items when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court No. 1 on Wednesday.
Prosecutor Sergeant Randolph Boyce said Aziz was seen putting the groceries inside his haversack. When he was stopped and asked to produce a receipt for the items, he could not.
Aziz, who was placed on a bond by the same court last August which ended in November, confessed to having a drug addiction. (SD)
