Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Ryan Straughn, has highlighted the trend of fewer people having children in Barbados, noting how this is reflected in the current school enrollment figures for the 2024-25 academic year.

According to Straughn, the enrollment data shows a decline in student numbers across various grade levels.

In Class 4, there are 2,409 children turning 11, while in Class 3, 2,362 students are turning 10.

Class 2 has 2,224 children turning 9, and in Class 1, there are 2,091 children turning 8.

The Infants A and B classes show 2,067 and 2,060 children turning 7 and 6, respectively.
