Magnitude 3.7 earthquake recorded west of Barbados

A magnitude 3.7 earthquake was recorded to the west of Barbados earlier today.

The Seismic Research Centre (SRC) at the University of the West Indies (UWI) reported that the tremor occurred at approximately 12:48 p.m. at a depth of 125 kilometres.

The event was located at latitude 13.09N and longitude 60.03W, approximately 46 kilometres west of Bridgetown.

The earthquake was also located 133 kilometres east of Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and 148 kilometres southeast of Castries, Saint Lucia.

There were no reports of damage or injuries as a result of the event.
