Fogging Schedule: May 19 to 23

The Ministry of Health and Wellness’ Vector Control Unit will continue its fogging programme in St James, St Thomas and St Michael this week.

The Unit will start its mosquito reduction exercise in the following districts in St James on Monday, May 19: Wanstead Gardens, Husbands Heights, Husbands Terrace, Westside Close, Dracaena Avenue, and surrounding areas.

The next day, Tuesday, May 20, the team will visit communities in St James and St Thomas including Clover View Nos.1 to 3, Coral Glade, Prior Park Crescent North, Prior Hill, Meadow Lane, Prior Park Heights, No. 2 Cul-de-Sac, Meadowvale, Crystal Heights, McInnley Court, Glydor Gardens, Warrens Park North, Warrens Crecent, Warrens Heights, Welches Estate, Welches Grove, and Reef Close.

On Wednesday, May 21, the Unit will turn its attention to districts in St Michael, when they fog Prince of Wales Road, Queen Mary Road, King George Road, King Edward Road, Queen Victoria Road, Buckingham Road, Sealy Land 1st and 2nd Avenues, Gilkes Road, Powder Road, Park Road, Station Hill 1st and 2nd Avenues, Leinster Road, Longford Road, Clarkes Road, Savannah Road, Clemonts Avenue, and Mansion Road.

The team will return to St Michael the following day, Thursday, May 22, to fog Tudor Road, Dr. Kerr Land, Brathwaite Gap, Prescod Bottom, Motteys Land, Halls Land, Headley Land, Advent Avenue, Skeete’s Road, Mayers Gap, Brathwaite Road, Downes Avenue, Progressive Road, Holligan Road, Pavilion Road, Fields Gap, Country Road, Fordes Road, Laundry Road, Perry Gap, and environs.

Fogging for the week will conclude on Friday, May 23, in the following St Michael communities: Nurse Land 1st and 2nd Avenues, Grosvenor Road, Railway Road 1st and 2nd Avenues, Olton Road, Glendairy Road, School Road, Baycroft Road, Jones Road, Bridge Road, Bibby’s Gap, Hall’s Road, Marlhole Road, St. Hill Road, Alkins Road, Norham Road, Murrell Road, Huntes Road, Chadderton Road, Harrison Road, and Arthur Land 1st and 2nd Avenues.

Fogging takes place from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter. Children should not be allowed to play in the fog.

Members of the public are advised that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the Unit’s control. In such circumstances, the Unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time.
