Members of the Liquor Licence Authority have been hitting the streets ensuring that vendors are paid up for the Flow Grand Kadooment tomorrow.
Today the teams, equipped with laptops for on-the-spot registering, worked their way along the route that will stretch from the starting point at the Helipad Car Park in Bridgetown onto Hincks Street, culminating on the Mighty Grynner Highway.
Seasonal licences for 90 days are $500, but vendors plying their trade just for the day tomorrow when revellers and spectators are out in full are being charged $50 under the special licence provisions if they do not already have a permit.
The licensing team were accompanied by members of The Barbados Police Service on the mission. A team member explained that some vendors do not realise that beers and its blend shandy are considered alcoholic drinks and therefore a liquor licence must be obtained if they are being sold.
From Hincks Street the costumed street paraders will head to Princess Alice Highway, Prescod Boulevard, Elsie Payne Roundabout, President Kennedy Drive, Eagle Hall, Black Rock Main Road, Frank Worrell Roundabout and on to the highway. (AC)
