The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) is closely monitoring a tropical wave in the central Atlantic.
As of 11:00 a.m. today, the system was located near 40W south of 17N, approximately 1,940 kilometres (1,205 miles) east-southeast of the island. Officials have confirmed that there are currently no watches or warnings in effect for Barbados.
The BMS has forecast that convective activity associated with the wave will bring wet conditions across the island on Monday, regardless of whether the system develops further.
The tropical wave had shown signs of becoming less organised over the past 12 hours, but model guidance indicates it could become better organised as it moves into a slightly more favourable environment late this weekend into early next week.
Residents are encouraged to stay updated through the BMS, Department of Emergency Management (DEM), and Government Information Service (GIS) websites, their respective social media pages, and local media networks. Daily weather forecasts issued by the BMS should also be monitored.
