Barbados Royals’ fast-medium bowler Ramon Simmonds is eyeing a spot in the upcoming West Indies T20 squad against Nepal later this month with hopes that his cricket has done the talking ahead of the series.

Speaking to the NATION SPORT, Simmonds admits he would relish the chance to be in contention for the first ever bilateral series between the two sides. With the Test series against India beginning on October 2 and the T20 series, being held in the United Arab Emirates, finishing on September 30, there is a likelihood that several multi-format bowlers may not feature in the white ball series.

The Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the UAE will host all three matches with the first two T20 Internationals taking place on September 27 and 28 and the final match being played on September 30.

However, the 23 year-old says he is focused on closing out this year’s Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) with good performances.
