Man shot and killed in Bayville

Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred along Sandbox Avenue, Bayville, St Michael, on Monday night.

According to reports, the incident took place around 10:10 p.m. when a man was sitting on the bonnet of a car and was approached by an armed individual wearing a mask. The assailant reportedly fired several shots, hitting the victim.

The injured man was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a private vehicle, where he later succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified by relatives as 36-year-old Akil Hinds of Sandbox Avenue, Bayville, St Michael.

Investigations are ongoing. Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information that could assist with the investigation to contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-8477, Police Emergency at 211, or the Hastings/Worthing Police Station at 430-7614 or 430-7615.
