Update – Man fatally shot at Chapman Cross Street identified

Police have confirmed that Neil Renville, 33, of Adventist Gap, Jackson, St. Michael, was fatally shot early Sunday morning.

The police operations control received a report at approximately 1:36 a.m. on March 1, 2026, of a male body lying at Chapman Cross Street, St. Michael.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Renville was at a nearby bar when he became involved in a verbal altercation with another individual. He left the bar shortly before gunshots were heard. Upon arrival, police called for medical assistance, and a doctor pronounced Renville dead at the scene.

Investigations are ongoing.

Authorities are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information that could assist in the investigation to contact the Criminal Investigations Department (Central) at 430-7189 or 430-7190, Police Emergency at 211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477, or the nearest police station.
