The Ministry of Education Transformation acted quickly after a janitor reported seeing a mouse in a prefabricated building at St. Bartholomew School.

According to the Ministry, The Vector Control Unit visited on Tuesday, March 24, laying bait and recommending door sweeps on specific entrances. Installation continued through Thursday, March 26, alongside routine janitorial cleaning.

A follow-up inspection on Friday, March 27, found droppings in one classroom.

The building will undergo industrial cleaning over the weekend to be ready for classes on Monday, March 30.

The Ministry continues working with the Ministry of Education Health and Wellness on pest control measures.

School leadership is being urged to maintain proper waste disposal and daily cleaning to keep environments safe for staff and students.
