Medical Equipment Distribution Company Seeks a Biomedical Technician
The Biomedical Technician is a professional who contributes to the advancement of patient care by applying engineering and management skills to healthcare technology. The incumbent will be required to have general knowledge in the underlying physiology, medicine, clinical care of patients, the theory of operation and the safe clinic application of biomedical equipment in all major areas of clinical equipment. The incumbent shall receive hands-on training and mentorship in key medical equipment categories in both fields, service and technical administration.
Responsibilities:
• Leads the installation, testing and commissioning processes of plug & play or infrastructure based medical device in existing or new customer facilities.
• Manages the key processes as it relates to maintenance, service, repair, factory, modifications, upgrades and overhaul of all medical equipment and systems.
• Performs a variety of general and hands-on technical tasks in connection with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of medical equipment.
• Assist in End User Training in the use of new items of biomedical equipment and lends support to the continuing educational thrust of the clinical programme.

Credentials and Experience:
• A diploma or bachelor’s degree (preferably) in Biomedical Engineering or the Engineering Faculty from an accredited college or university.
• A certification or qualification in Project Management will be an asset.
• At least (3) post qualifications years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirement:
• In possession of or access to a functional motor vehicle.
• Willing to work after normal working hours, public holidays and weekends as requested by the manager.
• Staff must avail themselves as far as possible for duty in the event of an emergency or disaster.
