Two Bajans perish in Brooklyn fire

There are reports reaching The Nation that the two people who died in a fire in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York, on Monday night, were Barbadians.

The woman, said to be 80 years old, and a 59-year-old man, died at the hospital after being pulled from the building. They were from St Peter. A firefighter was also injured in the blaze and was said to be in stable condition.

According to a CBS, flames engulfed the building at Kingston Avenue just after 11 p.m.

Several families were displaced by the blaze, the cause of which is under investigation. (Nation News Desk)
