The spirit of the 71-year-old Democratic Labour Party remains unbroken, said acting president Stephen Lashley yesterday on the anniversary of its founding.
The party which governed Barbados in the past has failed to win any of the 30 seats in the last three elections between 2018 and 2026.
“Though we have faced recent challenges, the spirit of the Democratic Labour Party remains unbroken. Our mission endures with you the people of Barbados as our anchor. Our purpose is clear. The call now is for unity, for re-commitment, and for action guided by the clear wishes of our people,” said Lashley who recently took up the position following the exit of former Leader of the Opposition Ralph Thorne after the party again lost the February 11 General Election.
