A 32-year-old father is being tried on an incest charge. The accused, who was 29 at the time of the allegation, denied having sex with the then nine-year-old girl on July 12, 2023, knowing that she was his daughter by blood relation.

The case started on Monday before Justice Christopher Birch in Supreme Court No.5 and continued yesterday.
State Counsel Maya Kellman is prosecuting, in association with State Counsel Rommel Sandiford while defence counsel Kristin Vanderpool is acting on behalf of the accused.
Yesterday the child’s grandmother testified that she dropped her daughter to work and her granddaughter to her father’s house on the day in question. She, the grandmother, did not go inside.
