Barbadian athlete Maya Rollins won the women’s 100-metre hurdles at the Hill City Twilight meet in the United States over the weekend.
Competing for the University of Virginia at the University of Lynchburg, the 19-year-old won the event in a season’s best time of 13.32 seconds – a time that ranks No. 6 in the Atlantic Coast Conference this season.
With a wind legal time, the Pan American Games silver medallist also bettered her Virginia No. 3 alltime mark.
As some of Rollin’s teammates etched their names in the history books for the University of Virginia – with Kate Payne winning the 3 000 metres in 10:30.27 minutes and Gary Martin triumphant in the men’s 1500 metres in 3:34.12 minutes – Rollins made sure she was not left out.
