Various districts in St James, St Michael and St George will be visited by the Vector Control Unit of the Ministry of Health and Wellness next week.
The unit will start in the following communities on Monday, May 18: Black Bess Terrace, 1st and 2nd Avenues Mangrove, Bakers’ Tenantry, Rock Dundo Tenantry No.2, Turtleback Ridge, Sion Hill and environs.
The following day, Tuesday, May 19, the team will spray some St Michael areas, including Gittens Road, Gittens Gap, Gittens Avenues Nos.1 to 3, Back Ivy, Waldrond Avenue, Ivy Main Road, 1st to 8th Avenues Ivy, Skeete Road, 1st to 8th Avenues Skeete Road, Rogers Road, Hoyte Road, Wilkie Road, and neighbouring districts.
The team will turn its attention to St George on Wednesday, May 20, when South District, Hanson, Dash Valley, Hothersal Terrace, Monroe Village, 1st Avenue Dash Gap, Hanson Heights, Monroe Road to Haynes Hill, Monroe Village, and Constant Tenantry will be fogged.
Several St Michael neighbourhoods will be fogged by the unit on Thursday, May 21. They are Cozy Corner, Bird Hill, Sinckler Road, Roberts Road, Coral Drive, Crest Road, Farnum Drive, Plum Tree Road, Salters Tenantry Road from the Corner of Monroe Road and Haynes Hill to Cutting Road, Cutting Road and Pasture Road.
The fogging exercise for the week will conclude on Friday, May 22 in the following St James districts: Rock Dundo, Bakers’ Woods, Upper Rock Dundo, Brathwaite Road, Carlton Road, Upper Carlton, Deans, Sion Hill Road, and surrounding areas.
Fogging takes place from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter. Children should not be allowed to play in the fog. (BGIS)
