Two Jamaican women have been fined after pleading guilty to multiple cannabis-related offences before the District ‘B’ Magistrates Court.

The Barbados Police Service (TBPS) Narcotics Unit arrested and charged 57-year-old Judith Annmarie Brown of Kingston, Jamaica, and 63-year-old Doreen Veronica King, also of Kingston, following incidents on June 27, 2026.
Both women were charged with possession of cannabis, intent to supply cannabis, trafficking of cannabis and importation of cannabis.
In Brown’s case, police said the total estimated weight of the suspected cannabis was 7.30 kilograms, with a street value of $58,400. She appeared before Magistrate Keitha Ellis on Monday, pleaded guilty, and was fined $15,000 forthwith or sentenced to 12 months at the Barbados Prison Service at Dodds.
In King’s case, authorities said the total estimated weight was 11.30 kilograms, with a street value of $90,400. She also appeared before the same court, pleaded guilty, and was fined $21,000 forthwith or will serve 12 months at Dodds.
Both matters were heard in the District ‘B’ Magistrates Court earlier today.
