The Barbados Road Tennis Open (BRTO), the flagship tournament of the island’s indigenous sport, remains deeply entrenched in the fabric of Barbadian society.
Those were the sentiments of tournament organiser and Barbados Road Tennis Association president Frederick Blunt.
The tournament is in full swing and has so far made its way to Belfield and Orange Hill as it stays true to its roots as a community-based sport.
“Barbados has a rich history of playing tennis for 90 years at least,” Blunt told MIDWEEK SPORT.
