A mother’s agony

Isha Pierre wailed as she struggled to come to grips with the tragic death of her daughter Mesha Pierre yesterday.

Mesha, 31, of Sugar Hill, St Joseph, succumbed to stab wounds inflicted a day earlier, leaving two young daughters without a mother and a community shaken.

Police said a stabbing incident occurred around 4 a.m. on Saturday in Maynard’s Housing Area, St Peter. Investigations revealed that a group of people were congregating when a dispute occurred between two females. One of them received stab wounds and was transported in a private vehicle to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where she subsequently succumbed to her injuries.

Heartbroken, with tears flowing and fighting to find the words at her Sugar Hill home yesterday evening, Isha found it difficult to accept that her “baby girl” was gone.
