by CAROL MARTINDALEIt was a jazzy Sunday recently when Rickey Aimey and Friends got together to serenade patrons of Braddies Bar in Dover, Christ Church. The three-man group – Fredrick Griffith on drums and Darien Bailey on piano joining Aimey on bass – thrilled the small group that had gathered. It was food for the soul on that first Sunday and had musical palates longing for more.Aimey and his group belted out tune after tune, including hits from Michael Jackson whom he regarded as the greatest entertainer who ever lived, and Elton John. He included a tune called Bajan Bounce from his own CD and even played a favourite of his, Lost Without You by Robin Thicke, with a Barbadian flavour. In an appeal to music lovers to come and enjoy the Sunday evenings with the band, Aimey said: “We need to do this.”
