HAMILTON, Bermuda – Police in Bermuda, which is currently facing spiralling gun and gang violence, have arrested and charged two men in connection with two of the nine murders that have occurred there over the past 12 months.
Kevin Warner, 20, has been charged with the shooting death of 24-year-old Dekimo Martin, who had just been released from prison, outside his home in the western parish of Sandys in the early hours of last Friday.
Warner, who turned himself in to police the following day, was further charged with possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence, as well as with perverting the course of justice.
During a brief appearance in court, he was not required to enter a plea and was remanded to custody to await trial in the Supreme Court.
A second defendant, Charlita Campbell, was charged with providing a false alibi to Warner. She was not required to enter a plea either, and was released on bail.
The pair will re-appear in court on June 11. (CMC)
