LIMING TIME is expected to start on December 15 at Limegrove Lifestyle Centre. That was the assurance from real estate developer Paul Altman, the major force behind the development, when he took executive members of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce & Industry, along with media representatives, on a partial tour of the 10-acre site ayesterday afternoon. He said that not even possible bad weather during the current hurricane season would prevent the project – 80 per cent of which is due for completion in December – from being on schedule.“We have two contractors on site and some other small contractors employed, and everyone is working at full speed in order to make it happen. . . . Contractors have factored in potential bad weather. They will work overtime if necessary to make up for any lost time. We have a deadline and we are not going to miss it as long as we can control what is happening,” Altman said.He explained that the original project was expanded and 100 per cent of the old plan would be finished by the tourism winter season, which corresponded with 80 per cent of its present scale.“The cinemas might not be fully ready for opening in December,” he said. However, other features such as “nightclubs, food places, shopping of all types including some of the signature names from all across the world including Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Ralph Lauren and Armani” would be in operation.Altman noted that planning permission had been granted for 57 housing units that would sit on five acres.“We have built eight units just as a demonstration of the signature style that we think would fit with the character of this area; being in a town, they are town houses, 16-foot ceiling, 3 400 square foot each with their own pools, little gardens. The first units would be finished at the end of July,” the developer said.He added: “In December you will see people drinking at the Lime Bar at Limegrove, December 15.”
