CAPTAIN KENROY WILLIAMS scored a purposeful 112, inclusive of ten boundaries, in 204 minutes to give St Catherine a commanding lead over newcomers Dover.
Williams came to the crease with St Catherine on 55 for three, and with Patrick Browne added 84 for the fourth wicket before Browne was run out attempting a third run.
St Catherine went to tea on 171 for four with Williams on 71 and Derick Bishop on 25. But on resumption, Williams duly reached his century off 135 deliveries. He changed gears and after clobbering two sixes, attempted a third and was caught in the deep, ending a 69-run fifth-wicket partnership with Bishop, who made 46.
Having secured maximum batting points, St Catherine declared their innings at 302 for eight, earning a healthy lead of 157. At the close, Dover lost their captain Sean Armstrong for eight as they reached 36 for two.
