Patriotism also in a name

I THINK the name “Crop-Over” is outdated and should be changed to “Nationfest”, “Bajanfest” or “Bajafest”.

The Royal Barbados Police Force and the proposed new hospital should be changed to the Barbados Police Force and the name of a great Barbadian doctor, respectively.

No offence to the monarchy, but with 43 years of independence, we should show more patriotism in this regard.

The radio programme, Down to Bras Tacks” should also be renamed “Up To The People – though others and I seem to be purposely left out when we called for the last five weeks.

Cou Cou and flying fish is not our number one or national dish anymore according to newspapers reports about two weeks ago. I wonder if it’s now the British fish and chips.
