THE SPECTACLE of the traditional street parade is back in this year’s BNB Crop-Over Heritage Gala And Ceremonial Delivery Of The Last Canes after a one-year break.
On July 3, from 11 a.m., the streets between The City and Queen’s Park are expected to be a mass of colour as participants give onlookers a sample of the sights and sounds associated with the annual festival.
Speaking at a launch at BNB Broad Street yesterday, retail services manager Andrew Campbell said the bank recognised the importance of culture to national development, and encouraged other corporate entities to get on board.
“The success of Crop-Over lies not only in the hands of the National Cultural Foundation and its ability to stage events, but is also dependant on the business community as good corporate citizens for its sponsorship and support,” he said, before presenting the NCF with a cheque for $65 000 for the event.
BNB has been the title sponsor for the Opening Gala for the past 11 years.
