Codrington School in St John will shortly become the only school in the Caribbean to offer all three levels of the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum.The school teaches the Primary Years Programme and is expected to get accreditation to offer the Middle Years Programme next month.In September, the school will begin offering the IB Diploma Programme, Board Chairman Sylvia Johnson told an information seminar at Hilton Barbados recently.School Principal Dennis McKinnon explained that the International Baccalaureate is particularly important for internationally-minded Barbadians and for internationally mobile people living on the island.McKinnon said the International Baccalaureate programme concerned itself more with conceptual understanding and less with knowledge acquisition. (AVB)
