Politicians should be mindful of conduct

Recently, my attention seems to be focused on the capital of Barbados, our Bridgetown.

In Parliament, on  April 27, after watching the evening news, I was appalled at the factious behaviour displayed by our members of parliament.

For the persons elected to carry out our nation’s business to be getting on in such a manner leaves nothing for our younger generation who aspire to become politicians.

Politicians are supposed to be public figures and are there not to display their big houses or expensive cars, but to lead by example.

Had one of my colleagues or myself been found to be getting on in such a manner in a place of business in the capital, we would have been arrested and probably charged for misconduct.

Leaders, remember you are being watched and listened to daily. Please, please if not for yourselves, do what is right for the people of this beautiful country, (our paradise,) especially the youths.

Behave behave, behave. Remember, the people of Barbados are the reason you are there. Show us some respect.
