Pakistan beat Bangladesh

DAMBULLA, Sri Lanka – Pakistan thrashed Bangladesh by 139 runs in the Asia Cup at Rangiri Dambulla Stadium yesterday.Both sides have been eliminated from the four-nation tournament after losing to finalists India and Sri Lanka.Batting first, Pakistan made 385-7, their largest ever total in One-Day International cricket. Captain Shahid Afridi hit a career-best 124 off 60 balls, and three other batsmen made half-centuries – Imran Farhat (66), Shahzaib Hasan (50) and Umar Akmal (50). Afridi lashed 17 boundaries and four sixes. At one point, he hit two fours, a six and five more boundaries in successive balls faced in a three-over span, rushing him from 62 to 96 en route to his sixth limited-overs century, and second of the Asia Cup.Bangladesh, in reply, made 246-5 in 50 overs. Junaid Siddique fell three runs short of his maiden limited-overs century. Siddique faced 114 balls and hit six boundaries and two sixes. (AP)
