Group Chief Executive Officer of One Caribbean Media Limited, Dr Terrence Farrell, is leaving the company effective next Wednesday, June 30.A statement from the company, which has its headquarters in Trinidad and Tobago, indicated that Farrell decided to devote more of his time to the development of a family-owned business. Chairman of OCM Sir Fred Gollop said: “I wish to express the appreciation of the board for the strategic thinking and initiatives which Dr Farrell brought to the organisation over the last two years, which I am sure will continue to benefit OCM in the years ahead.”Farrell, a former deputy Central Bank governor in the twin-island republic, took up duties on June 1, 2008.OCM came into being in March 2006 after an agreement was signed between Caribbean Communications Network Ltd., parent company of the Trinidad Express and TV6, and The Nation Corporation of Barbados, in order to create a publicly owned and regionally focused media company quoted on the stock exchanges of Trinidad and Tobago and of Barbados.In addition to the Express and TV6, OCM owns THE NATION newspapers and Starcom Network radio stations in Barbados, and has a majority interest in the Grenada Broadcasting Network.
