Agrofest spelling bee champion, Welches Primary School yesterday donated $500 to the Salvation Army for its Helping Hands For Haiti fund.Public Relations Officer at the Army Denzil Walcott said six schools were participating in the programme, to equip schools in Haiti which was devastated by an earthquake in January,Supplies including computers, textbooks, exercise books and medical supplies are to be shipped out next month.Teacher Wendene Price, noted that Welches Primary recently became the talk of the town after facing off against Holy Trinity School in the finals of the spelling competition. Luther Thorne school placed third and George Lamming Primary School fourth. (CT)
