Barbados society not only Christian

Share post:

HOW CAN America be a Christian country when the Lord’s Prayer is banned from school; and other public places?

How can Barbados be a Christian country, when we have more gambling machines than churches?Shouldn’t the law of God (Bible) be applied as criterion in a Christian country between man and God?

Shouldn’t we be punished for “coveting our neighbour’s wife” as stated in the Bible?Harry Russell is concerned about the “Islamic fertility rate” but forgets that all Muslims are not immigrants.

According to my research the first East Indian Muslims from West Bengal came in 1910 and after 100 years, the Muslim population is about 2 000, with over 70 per cent of us who are born and bred Bajans.

By the way, what is wrong with Muslims dressing modestly? Have you noticed how nuns dress?Islam is a complete way of life and Shariah law is a guide to that way of life. It includes laws pertaining to marriage, divorce, business, dealings, inheritance and so on.

For example, the law of inheritance stipulates that one cannot leave one’s inheritance to dogs and cats, but must be left to one’s wife, children, extended family members, orphans and charitable institutions.

I would challenge Russell to study Shariah law and enlighten us about it in his weekly column. Peace be with you.
