PLEASE PERMIT me, regular Joe Barbadian consumer who by the sweat of my brow and the breaking of my back, earn a living and therefore eat my bread, sometimes.
I have but one grievance right now and so far have turned to the people in charge, but to no avail. I have been using the distasteful service called DSL from LIME.
I say distasteful because for quite some time now I have not had any satisfactory service, and have been calling the call centre repeatedly only to have my name and number taken so much that some of the phone jockeys have them memorised.
I made complaints last Tuesday, and after receiving no replies, I called back only to be told no complaint was logged till Thursday night.
I have had – I imagine like most other users, who don’t know what course of action to take after exhausting the avenues provided them by LIME – much trouble with either the modem logging off on its own, or extremely slow browsing speeds.
They have promised to guarantee up to 80 per cent of the one megabyte package for which I pay, but after several tests, I get less than half of that.
The help centre – which really is ironic, for there is little help there – meets me with a voice prompt that tells me to wait, only to be cut off a few minutes later. Even though LIME has promised to answer calls within 30 seconds after the voice prompt.
I have also had the displeasure of being told that someone will contact me in under an hour – seems like they are always busy – and nobody has up to this date. The problems seem to go on and on with very little recourse.
Just imagine sending files via Internet protocol, or discussing business with an important client or even talking with family overseas, while using the webcam or any such scenario, only to be halted somewhere in the event because LIME is once again inconsistent in its services.
I would like very much for all the people who are experiencing these and other troubles related to LIME to say enough is enough and put sour LIME in its place.
If I neglect to pay one month’s bill they will disconnect my service, until that debt is satisfied, but they expect to dish out this less than satisfactory service and give us very little area of recourse – just because they are the monopoly!
I am willing to start or sign a petition to take to the relevant authorities to see something done about this unfairness for I am sure many of you are as I am fed up and frustrated.
