The National Art Gallery Committee is once again partnering with the National Cultural Foundation to host an exhibition entitled Karl Broodhagen – Centenary Celebration at the Queen’s Park Gallery, from July 11 to 31.Held in conjunction with the recent Tribute To Kamau Brathwaite exhibition at the same venue, both exhibitions celebrate the birthdays of major contributors to the cultural landscape of Barbados.The centenary celebration falls at the end of the 100th birthday of the late Karl Broodhagen, one of the most notable figures in Caribbean sculpture and painting. The works to be highlighted in the show will be sourced from institutional collections such as the National Collection and the Barbados Museum & Historical Society. Some private works will also be displayed. (BGIS)
