SAO PAULO – Officials say a raised platform being built in a cement factory has collapsed and killed at least six workers in northwestern Brazil. Twenty-four others are reported injured.Itaituba city spokesman Elie Sodre said the platform collapsed Monday.At least four of the injured were in serious conditionHe said the platform was part of the factory’s expansion project.Sodre said yesterday the city’s fire and police departments were investigating the cause of the collapse.
