Second Central Bank GM passes on

U Tin Tun, second general manager of the Central Bank of Barbados, has passed away in Australia. He was 93 years old. Tin Tun, a national of Burma (now Myanmar) came to Barbados in August 1973 and spent just over four years at the Central Bank. The bank’s first governor, Sir Courtney Blackman, credits him with helping to lay the operational foundations of the bank and providing invaluable advice and guidance during a difficult period. (PR)
