ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer has chided the opposition Antigua Labour Party (ALP) for engaging in rhetoric and actions which he said are not in the best interest of the country. In an address to the nation on Sunday night, the prime minister said the country was in a mood of expectancy . . . now that the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal had concluded hearings into the election appeal matter. As the country awaits the ruling of the judges, Spencer made it clear that the decision of the Court of Appeal in this matter was final and that both the government and the United Progressive Party (UPP), which he leads, would abide by that decision. “Neither the government nor the UPP will engage in any action or rhetoric that is not in the best interest or our country,” he said.
