The spotlight was on the young people last Sunday night at the Scotiabank Junior Monarch Semi-finals.Hundreds packed the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre to watch performances from the up and coming calypsonians, some of whom will face off on July 24 at the National Stadium.Parents, aunties, uncles and grannies, and friends and guardians turned out in their numbers to give support to the young people who took to the stage. They were definitely not disappointed and showed their appreciation, applauding as loudly as they possibly could. After about four hours and with results in hand, the finalists in the eight to 12 age group were named, as well as those who will compete in the 13 to 18 group.Kudos to those who performed and good luck to the finalists.
OUT & ABOUT – Cheers for Juniors
