DE MARKET VENDOR – People trying to pass de blame

SO UP TO the time of writing, BP had successfully capped the well which was leaking millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico and gave Fox Network, Mike Savage, Rush Limbaugh and all those others who still can’t accept Barack Obama as president of the USA, one less thing to blame the man for. If the capping of the well remains a success, what will they talk bout next and blame on the President. And then there is this Tea party movement which really now showing the true colours as in black and white, spewing out all types of hogwash and passing it off as a movement that is grassroots without any affiliation to any party; not true at all, the Republican colours are clear as daylight. Imagine putting out a poster with two of history’s most notorious mass murderers, Hitler and Stalin, and then putting President Obama in the middle of the poster and having it displayed on a billboard for the world to see, claiming it’s about linking the president to socialism! It only get pull down when the rest of society say they outraged. Sick, sick, sick people! And Limbaugh, hours after the death of the Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, cursing the dead man for having made scores of black men into millionaires! To think that millions of people every day listen to a man like that. This clown belong in the physiatric hospital, cause he mad, mad, mad! But strange statements came pun de home front too, as  the Director of the Bubbadus Youth Action Programme, Mr Alfred “Lumumba” Batson, and the secretary Emmanuel Beryllia said that the entire Vybz Kartel/Mavado issue was misunderstood; that we lost a valuable opportunity in cancelling the concert and that it was never the intention for the artistes to come and sing “wufless” music. The intention was to show there was no rift between Gully and Gaza and it was just entertainment. Wait, run that track again for me brethren! Who de hell in Bubbadus care bout whether or not there was a rift between the brain dead morons that make up Gully and Gaza gangs in Jamaica, we just don’t need that foolishness ‘bout here as we all now know that the lyrics of these gentlemen include some that should not be sung near a church service nor little children, cause the lyrics nasty and “wufless”. And then there was one of my favourite public people, the Honourable Ronald Jones telling it like it is on the quality of music coming out at Crop-Over. He say that what some were trying to pass off as double entendre was simply “ignorance”, that double entendre was a fine and delicate art and that some people just do not have the talent to do it. I cannot fault the minister, he is right, double entendre is a fine and delicate art and not everyone can do it. The Mighty Sparrow, RPB and Dave Martins of the Tradewinds are three of the finest exponents of the fine and delicate art form. They have written scores of gems in the double entendre vein, Sparrow’s That Is All and Dave’s Ah Want To Be A Puppy stand out. They and Bag have too many great examples for words. If I was Ronald Jones, I would not plan however to be in any tent too soon. At least not this year! One man who will be in a tent is likely to be Robert Le Hunte, the MD of the Barbados National Bank. I can confirm that the man is back from Harvard. I see he, I touch he in the flesh, not a ghost nor duppy, the man is alive and well so I guess all the rumours came to nothing!
