The Apes Hill 12-goal  polo team continued their fine form from last year when they won the 2010 Texaco 12-goal tournament at Cowdray Park in West Sussex. The four-day tournament saw the Apes Hill team playing unbeaten in their four matches to take the beautiful Silver Pony Trophy. In the opening game, they defeated Maiz Dulce 5-3.
Their next game was against Seven Sevens which ended in hard fought 9-8 victory for the Apes Hill lads. However they were made to fight down to the wire when they came up against League B semi-finalist La Golondrina.
They had to pull out all the stops in a nail-biting finish as they narrowly defeated La Golondrina 6-5 to book a spot in the final against “River”. Brimming with confidence, the team wasted no time in a flowing display of stick work to defeat River 7-4 which gave them their first Cup for the 2010 UK season.
