ESSO STANDARD OIL and the service stations which carry its brand help motorists to travel smoothly on the roads. However, the company is offering four lucky customers the opportunity to travel much farther. The 4 Ways Around The World 2010 promotion started on Friday, July 23, and runs for 56 days, with draws on August 6 for a Mediterranean cruise for two; August 20, for a trip for two to New York; September 3, for a Hawaii vacation for two; and a Disney World time in Orlando, Florida, for the winner and three other family members on Friday, September 7.Country Manager Cally Boyea said the promotion was to exhibit “value and rewards to customers” in a very competitive market to stimulate sales of its brand and increase client loyalty. This is just one way that Esso lives up to its “brand promise” of being “a company you can trust to deliver quality products at good value”. Boyea also said the business was a good corporate presence in the community, noting for example the sponsorship in the recent Pan Pun De Sand event; promoting healthy lifestyles and supporting the Barbados Diabetes Association and several sporting activities.Attendants includedIan Brewster, retail territorial manager, explained that one of the aspects of the competition was that petrol attendants were included in the competition, with weekly chances to win prizes and a grand prize for eight of these workers – an all-expense paid trip to Grenada.Manager of an Oistins station, Carlton Proute who was representing the dealers noted, “We would like to get the public to accept that gas attendants are people too. We train our staff to greet people politely and give good service, but some customers are rude and crude. By including these hard workers in our competition to receive prizes, we are showing them our appreciation.” (PR)
