BARBADOS’ Under-17 footballers have advanced to the second stage of Caribbean qualification for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Jamaica.The Kenville Layne-coached Barbados outfit sustained their unbeaten record when they came from behind to draw 2-2 with host country Suriname in their final Caribbean Football Union first-round group match on Saturday in Paramaribo.After trailing 1-0 at half-time and then 2-0 early in the second half, Barbados staged a grand comeback with brilliant goals by Zari Prescod and Zabarry Chandler, who ended with five goals in three matches.Barbados had thrashed Grenada 6-0 in their opening match lastTuesday and blanked St Vincent and the Grenadines 3-0 on Thursday.In the second phase which will be played from August 18 to 22 in Kingston, Barbados will play against Jamaica, Haiti and possibly the Diominican Republic.
