Sandy Lane gives back

Sandy Lane HOTEL staff and their children who recently sat the Common Entrance Examination were honoured last Friday when the hotel hosted its quarterly awards.  Under the theme Recognising And Rewarding Excellence, the hotel’s management held its 2010 employee recognition celebration and awards for the second quarter.General manager Robert Logan said: “The children tell their parents when next to come back to the hotel. They are on Facebook organising their next visit back  . . .  so we [the hotel] will be utilising Facebook a lot more in the future.The 23 children were presented with stationery and $100 for the activation of a junior account at the Bank of Nova Scotia.The award for Coach Of The Quarter went to Althea O’neal (duty manager  – front house). The Gold Star awards went to Patrick Parris (housekeeping), Rodney Russell (security) and Keil Alleyne (information technology). The Silver Star awards went to Roderick Barrow (the Pavilion kitchen), Clarence Boyce (golf turf) and Matilda McDonald (laundry). The Bronze Star awards went to Keisha Bascombe (in room dining), Natalie King (information technology) and Michael Griffith (stewarding).Centre Court and Honesty awards were also presented for the months of April, May and June.
