A number of familiar faces were spotted in the 2010 Foreday Morning jump-up which started at Carlisle car park on Wharf Road, The City, and culminated on Spring Garden Highway early yesterday morning. The event, which started around 1 a.m. and was sponsored by Roberts Manufacturing Limited, saw many well-known Barbadians in various bands along the route as they jammed and partied to the infectious rhythms of sweet calypso and soca music.Tourists, locals, young and old all “chipped” down the road with great enthusiasm in the “wee” hours of the morning, much to the delight of onlookers, who at various points, joined in the action.Despite heavy showers, the estimated 15 000 revellers showed no intention of stopping or even slowing down. They were constantly warned to stay within their bands as they made their way to Spring Garden Highway. (MM)
